Beckoned into i’Arathael by mysteries of the Third Age, Viserai and Chane battle to the death.

The new Shadow Lord descends upon Solana, the fate of Rathe within his grasp…
Become the Shadow Lord
Take Your Seat!
Usurp the Shadow Throne is a standalone booster set designed for both limited and constructed play. Featuring three Shadow heroes, the milestone 20th set unleashes the penultimate chapter of the War of the Monarch.
Flesh and Blood’s iconic original Runeblade Viserai finally returns from traversing i’Arathael, now imbued with the power of Shadow! As the champion of the Old Ones, he uses his otherworldly abilities to usurp all who stand in his path of conquest. He is joined by Malice, a Necromancer who commands an army of zombies, corrupting them beyond death to serve her sinister desires. Fan favorite Brute Levia is back, driven by the insatiable hunger of the demon Blasmophet within her.
With the gate to i’Arathael open, gameplay is unbound. Embrace the Shadow and access forbidden power by playing cards from your banished zone. Usurp power by seizing your opponent’s Runechants by force! With such power at your disposal, the fate of Rathe is within your grasp.
Ultimate power is within your reach… are you ready to take your seat and Usurp the Shadow Throne?
VISERAI
He who breaks chains, knows no masters. The Arknight forsaken, Viserai now traverses freely through form and fate. Having killed Chane and taken control of Ursur, Viserai has become the champion of the Old Ones, returning to conquer Rathe with otherworldly power and an army of Gloomblades.
Flesh and Blood’s iconic original Runeblade, Viserai finally makes his return in a new Shadow form and takes over as leader of the Demonastery. Made and unmade in the voids of the beyond, he usurps the runes and reaps their profane power. The fate of Rathe now depends on his next move…
MALICE
In the fields of battle, Malice wastes neither skulls nor sinew as her restless army is beckoned back to the grave. Flesh and Blood’s latest Necromancer uses Shadow to twist zombies into corrupted corpses, sending them back into battle even after they have decayed beyond use.
Viserai’s onslaught offers the perfect opportunity for Malice to satisfy her morbid fascination with undeath - bodies aplenty for her to experiment with. Call upon legions of the undead with Armory Deck: Malice, releasing September 18, 2026.
Levia
The fan favorite Shadow Brute is back, and more ravenous than ever! After consuming the demon Blasmophet, Levia is possessed with the mark of the beast... but power always has a price. Blasmophet's insatiable hunger gnaws away, compelling her to feast upon everything and anything, lest his appetite devour her from within.
Levia is determined to honor Chane by completing his life’s work - the destruction of Solana and everything it stands for. Despite hating Viserai for slaying the only one who respected her, an alliance would help her achieve those ambitions. She tactically sides with Viserai… for now.
Forbidden Power
Unbound
Usurp the Shadow Throne beckons you to embrace the Shadow and satisfy your hunger for power! Using the Gate to i’Arathael, you can access forbidden power by playing cards from your banished zone, or usurp power by seizing your opponent’s Runechants by force! But be warned… the price of such power is steep, and debts must always be paid…
